Pants on Fire! When we asked Allen West to back up his claim, he admitted it was wrong and changed it

Pants on Fire! When we asked Allen West to back up his claim, he admitted it was wrong and changed it.

West wrote that he "supports the rights of states to secure their border, such as in Arizona. Protecting US citizens must come first." For Klein he wrote: "Repeatedly voted in favor of amnesty for illegal immigrants, even as violence on our southern border is increasing rapidly."

Grodin got back to us in the evening of Sept. 16 and he told us that the West campaign had made an error.

"We made a little bit of a mistake and we corrected it,'' he said. "We changed it on the website. Obviously there haven't been any amnesty bills voted on this session. .... For the record the campaign made a little bit of a mistake and we corrected. It's nothing like flat-out lying on a TV commercial."

Allen West Follows Yellow Brick Road to Kansas
By Thomas Francis, Wed., Sep. 8 2010
Allen West has just two months before his general election faceoff against Congressman Ron Klein, but he wasn't inclined to spend this precious holiday weekend campaigning in the Broward/Palm Beach congressional district. Rather, he made a road trip to Leavenworth, Kansas, to speak at a rally for ten soldiers who have been jailed at that base after being convicted of murdering Iraqis.

The fun is provided almost entirely by over-the-top Allen West, the manifestation of machismo and everything the pistol-hugging wingnut fringe wants a Congressman to be. West is one of the best fundraisers in the country, drawing money from wackos in every corner of the country.
